It was a reunion of sorts as I popped by Cherry Garden with my gf on a bright and cheery Saturday morning to savour their dim sum buffet. To get things straight, I certainly didn't have a good impression of the place save for its beautiful decor as the food I had on my previous visit wasn't anywhere near outstanding.
Ambience
Excellent interior done up to resemble days of ancient China. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
Variety
The buffet menu had 5 pages to it - 2 pages of dim sum, 1 page of appetisers, 1 page specialties, 1 page rice/noodles/soup and 1 page desserts. There was the usual suspects like Har Gao, Siew Mai, Char Siew Bao etc with nothing too special. The specialties page consisted of stuff like roast duck, cod fish, beef etc. Overall not a extensive selection of items but decent enough. Do note that you are only allowed to order each item from the specialties and appetisers menu once.
Quality
Overall quality was good with the ingredients fresh. Especially outstanding was the Wasabi Prawns which were huge and crispy on the outside while succulent on the inside with only a tinge of wasabi taste. Give the Xiao Long Baos a miss though. Personally found the skin too dry and shriveled.
Service
Nothing short of excellent with our tea consistently refilled and the flexibility exercised in ordering the food. Waiting time for our food was short as well.

Value for money
At 38++ per pax, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the buffet was value for money but in certain aspects, its worth a visit and maybe a revisit. Please note that there are 2 sittings for the buffet, 11am - 1pm and 130pm - 3pm.
Likes: Quality food, great ambience, good service
Dislikes: A little pricey, menu not extensive
Final Verdict:
Ambience:9/10
Service:8/10

Yeah man. Just the 2 of us. I eat alot lol :p
Wow..!! nice dim sum.. :) envy lah..!
its now $58+++ per pax
OMG $58++ for dim sum buffet? Or did they rebrand it as ala carte Chinese buffet for that price?
Eh? I went there 3 Saturdays ago, for lunch, and it was $45+++ per pax for the dim sum buffet. And it was gooood! ;-) They increased price so quickly?!
jusr called up to book for next weekend. price is now $45+++.
anyone knows what difference in food for new $45+++ vs the previous $38+++
Andy, I think its the same food but prices have gone up due to the surge in raw material prices :p
any idea what is the price now?
Hi anonymous, I think its still $45++ but I'm not sure if the prices went up due to the festive season.
We're going there to have our family gathering on this coming sunday ( 11am - 1pm ). Just called the them to make reservation for 10 adults and 1 baby. It's $50.45 per pax inclusive of tax.
Hi anonymous, thanks for the update! I think that works out to be about $43/pax before tax?
Hi,
It was $38++ before the increase in price to the current $45++.
Hi anonymous, when I ate there, it was already $38++ =) Thanks for confirming that its $45++ now.
hi, for the buffet, diners are only allowed to order each item from the specialties and appetisers menu once. I don't really like such restrictions so I'm wondering maybe ala carte would be better.
I'm not a big eater. In your opinion, would it be better to go for ala carte than the buffet? Or would it still be more value to go for buffet?
Hi anonymous, I'm not sure if they offer an ala carte option but if you are not a big eater, ala carte would definitely make more sense. I think $45 can probably get you about 8 baskets?
